Rahul Dravid'S KNOCK PROVED TO BE A BOON FOR TEAM india
The battle between the world's two strongest team begin in Ahmedabad today when the both teams faced each other in the Day 1 of 1st Test match at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera – Ahmedabad .
India elected to bat first after winning the toss .
Kumar Sangakkara Srilankan skipper said that the first half an hour in the mornning at Indian Pitches will be very crucial for his bowlers and he will try to take as much as advantage of the fact .
It proved very right for the skipper as his bowlers successfully crushed the top four batsman of Indian team in the early overs of the game.
The players include virender sehwag (16), gautam gambhir (1), sachin tendulkar (4) and VVS Laxman (0) which was a positive sign for the Srilankan Team .
At one stage India was 32-4 in just 7.4 overs which was very shameful for Team India .
After that A man which we all better know as The Wall of Indian Team didn't let his fans down and played a fantastic knock for his team and took team India to a respectable total at the end of Day 1.
With the help of Rahul Dravid team india managed to put a total of 385/6 in 90 overs highest by team India ever on
Day 1 .
He was well supported by yuvraj singh and Mahender Singh Dhoni from the other end .
Rahul Dravid remain unbeaten on Day 1 scoring 177 runs in 251 balls with the help of 26 fours and 1 six .
Whereas on the other hand Yuvraj singh scored 68 runs in 93 balls with 13 boundaries and Mahender Singh Dhoni contribued 110 runs in 159 balls including 10 boundaries and a six .
